Abstract

The rapid growth of big data technologies has led to significant advancements in various fields, ranging from healthcare to marketing. However, with the vast amounts of personal and sensitive information being collected, ethical concerns have emerged, particularly regarding consent and transparency. This paper explores the importance of ethical data collection practices in big data systems, emphasizing the need for informed consent, transparency in data usage, and the protection of individual privacy. We examine existing frameworks and policies, challenges in implementing ethical practices, and propose guidelines for fostering trust and accountability in big data collection. Through a comprehensive review of literature, the paper highlights strategies for mitigating privacy risks while enabling the beneficial use of big data technologies..
