Withdrawal Policy

Purpose:
This policy outlines the procedures and conditions under which authors may request the withdrawal of their manuscript from the Journal of Big Data Privacy Management during the publication process.

Scope:
The withdrawal policy applies to manuscripts submitted to the journal at any stage prior to final publication.

Withdrawal Request:
Authors who wish to withdraw their manuscript must submit a formal written request to the editorial office, stating clear reasons for the withdrawal. The corresponding author is responsible for communicating the withdrawal request on behalf of all co-authors.

Timing and Conditions:

  • Before Peer Review: Withdrawal requests are generally accepted without penalty if submitted before the manuscript enters the peer review process.

  • During or After Peer Review: Withdrawal requests during or after peer review require a valid reason and may be subject to editorial review. The journal reserves the right to deny withdrawal requests if the process has advanced significantly or if withdrawal would compromise publication integrity.

  • After Acceptance: Manuscripts accepted for publication cannot be withdrawn except in exceptional circumstances, such as discovery of ethical issues or errors invalidating the research. Such requests will be evaluated by the editorial board.

Consequences of Withdrawal:

  • Manuscripts withdrawn after peer review or acceptance may be marked as withdrawn in the journal records.

  • Authors withdrawing manuscripts without valid reasons after peer review may be subject to sanctions, including restrictions on future submissions.

  • Any fees paid, if applicable, are generally non-refundable upon withdrawal.

Ethical Considerations:
Withdrawal requests should be made in good faith. Unjustified or frequent withdrawals undermine the peer review process and scientific communication.

Communication:
The editorial office will confirm receipt of the withdrawal request and inform authors of the final decision within a reasonable timeframe.
