Archived Policy

The Journal of Big Data Privacy Management (JBDPM) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. This Archiving Policy outlines the mechanisms and practices employed to maintain a permanent, accessible scholarly record.

2. Digital Preservation
To safeguard against data loss and ensure content longevity, JBDPM employs multiple digital preservation strategies:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): JBDPM content is preserved in the LOCKSS system to guarantee secure and decentralized backup copies.

  • CLOCKSS: Participation in the CLOCKSS archive ensures content is preserved in a dark archive and made available in case of catastrophic loss or journal discontinuation.

  • Institutional Repositories: Authors are encouraged and permitted to deposit their published articles in institutional or subject-specific repositories with proper citation and links to the journal version.

3. Metadata and Indexing
All articles are assigned DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) through CrossRef and include rich metadata to facilitate indexing and discoverability in databases, search engines, and library systems.

4. Format Sustainability
JBDPM ensures that articles are stored in widely adopted, open formats (e.g., PDF/A, XML) to maximize accessibility and future usability.

5. Article Retention and Access
All published articles will remain permanently available on the journal website, subject to the licensing terms under which they were published. Articles will not be removed or altered after publication, except under exceptional circumstances such as legal or ethical violations, as outlined in the journal's Retraction Policy.

6. Journal Discontinuation
In the event of journal closure, all archived content will be preserved and made accessible via third-party preservation services and repositories, such as CLOCKSS or institutional archives, to ensure continued access to the scholarly record.

7. Open Access Compliance
JBDPM supports open access and complies with the archiving and preservation mandates of funding agencies and institutions.

8. Policy Review
This policy is reviewed annually to reflect advances in preservation technology and evolving best practices in digital archiving.
