Peer Review Policy

Journal of Big Data Privacy Management (JBDPM)

The Journal of Big Data Privacy Management (JBDPM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and quality. Our peer review policy ensures that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated in a fair, transparent, and rigorous manner by qualified experts in the field of big data, data privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance.

1. Type of Peer Review

JBDPM employs a double-blind peer review process:

  • The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process.

  • Manuscripts are anonymized before being sent to reviewers.

2. Reviewer Selection

Reviewers are selected based on:

  • Subject matter expertise

  • Absence of conflicts of interest

  • Proven track record of academic publishing or review experience in relevant fields

Each manuscript is reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers.

3. Review Process and Criteria

Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and contribution to the field

  • Technical accuracy and methodological soundness

  • Clarity of presentation and organization

  • Relevance to the scope of the journal

  • Ethical standards in research and data use

The review period typically spans 3–6 weeks, subject to reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.

4. Editorial Decision

After receiving reviewers' comments, the editorial board makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Request major revisions and resubmission

  • Reject

Authors are notified of the editorial decision along with anonymized reviewer comments.

5. Revision Policy

If revisions are requested:

  • Authors must address all reviewer comments in a detailed response letter.

  • Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the original reviewers (if applicable).

  • Major revisions may undergo another round of peer review.

6. Ethical Compliance

All reviewers must adhere to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and are required to:

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Disclose any conflicts of interest

  • Provide objective and constructive feedback

7. Appeals and Complaints

Authors who wish to appeal a decision must submit a formal letter to the Editor-in-Chief, outlining their rationale and providing supporting evidence. Appeals will be reviewed by an independent editorial member not involved in the original review.

8. Reviewer Recognition

To acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our reviewers, JBDPM:

  • Issues annual certificates of review

  • May recognize outstanding reviewers on its website or in editorials (with permission)

9. Transparency and Updates

This peer review policy is reviewed periodically and may be updated to reflect best practices and technological developments in academic publishing.
