As global data exchange accelerates with the growth of big data technologies, cross-border data flow has become a significant concern for privacy. The unregulated transfer of personal and sensitive data across borders challenges traditional notions of data sovereignty and privacy protections. This paper examines the critical privacy challenges arising from cross-border data flows, the regulatory frameworks in place to address these issues, and emerging solutions, including encryption and data localization laws. With an increasing emphasis on global data governance, this study provides a comparative analysis of privacy laws in various regions and their effectiveness in safeguarding personal data. The paper proposes frameworks for international cooperation to establish common standards and safeguard privacy while enabling the benefits of big data.
