Abstract

The integration of information and communication technologies in smart cities enables seamless services, optimized resource management, and enhanced citizen experiences. However, the widespread deployment of interconnected sensors, IoT devices, and data analytics platforms raises significant concerns about personal data privacy. This article explores the major privacy risks in urban data networks, evaluates current protection frameworks, and proposes future strategies for safeguarding sensitive information. It emphasizes the need for robust privacy-preserving technologies, regulatory oversight, and citizen awareness to create sustainable, trust-driven smart urban environments.
