The rapid growth of big data has opened up new avenues for data monetization, enabling businesses to extract valuable insights from vast amounts of consumer and organizational data. However, this comes with significant challenges concerning privacy protection. The need to balance data monetization with the safeguarding of personal and sensitive information has become a critical concern in big data ecosystems. This article explores the ethical, legal, and technological aspects of managing privacy while enabling the monetization of data. By examining the intersection of privacy protection measures, regulatory frameworks, and innovative monetization strategies, this paper aims to offer insights into creating data-driven business models that respect user privacy. Various frameworks and technologies such as differential privacy, blockchain, and privacy-preserving analytics are discussed, highlighting their role in mitigating risks associated with data monetization.
